Janell and Jaylen | Rooftop Engagement Portraits Over Downtown Augusta, GA
Janell and Jaylen booked me to photograph their wedding last October. With all of my wedding packages over 8 hours I include a complimentary 1-hour session that is typically used for engagement photos, bridal portraits, or rehearsal dinner coverage. Janell and Jaylen chose to use their session for an engagement portrait session!
Janell initially thought she wanted an engagement session set in nature, but a last minute change to the cityscape of downtown Augusta, GA created editorial inspired engagement photos that should be on the cover of a magazine!
We started the session on the rooftop of a parking garage that was totally empty. The sun was just starting to set, which created a beautiful glow that kissed the tops of the buildings along the skyline, danced over their skin, and cast the most stunning elongating shadows that gave such nice contrast!
From the parking garage, we took a walk along the streets of downtown Augusta, from Broad Street to the Riverwalk. The character of historic downtown Augusta infused these photos with the perfect balance of urban grunge and bridal white.
We walked back to our cars to drive a few blocks down to our next location. Before we left, Jaylen asked if it would be possible to take a few photos with his new car. Of course, I said yes! Spoiler alert, I will never say no to a photo request from a bride or groom… but I especially love when the grooms ask for a photo because it gets them excited about the photos and involved in the process of the session.
After that we drove a few blocks away, and finished up their dreamy editorial engagement photo session among marble pillars and an elegant white staircase.
Janell and Jaylen were so much fun to work with for this session! I am so thankful that they trusted me fully to create this timeless session for them!
Next week, I will be sharing some photos from their October 2024 wedding day in Augusta, GA! Be sure to check back then to read more about this sweet couple!
